Our customers have grown to expect only the highest quality products
from PMC A Division of R-SCC.
This construction
has been designed to meet the needs of industry and our customers. This
construction includes Tefzel® insulation extruded on the single
conductors. A jacket of Tefzel is then extruded overall providing a
product capable of withstanding unusual amounts of physical abuse.
Tefzel, ETFE, a
copolymer of ethylene and tetrafluoroethylene, was developed by Dupont
in 1970. Like FEP,TFE, and PFA, Tefzel is a high temperature resin and
is well suited for wire and cable insulation because of its balance
of properties. It has very good electrical characteristics, good low
temperature and thermal properties, and excellent chemical inertness.
Tefzel's tensile strength is better than FEP, TFE, or PFA. It passes
vertical and horizontal flame test as a single wire or bundle, and is
UL rated as VW-1. It has a nearly unvarying dielectric constant of 2.6
with changing frequency and temperature. Its dissipating factor is 0.0008
at 103Hz, 0.005 at 106Hz which is considerably lower than any other
non-teflon extrudable wire insulating material.
The thermocouple
grade products are used to form temperature sensors and the extension
grade products become the interconnecting link in the temperature sensing
system.
You will find our
qualified sales and engineering staff eager to assist in selecting a
design to meet the requirements of your specific application. Variations
of the construction are available upon request including aluminum polyester
tape to reduce noise problems found in so many of today's plants.

| NOTE: |
Percent
limits apply directly to temperature in °C units, but for °F equivalents
are applied to the numbers of °F above or below the ice point (+32°F).
(i.e. Limit (°F) = (Temp. °F-32°F) x Percentage) |
 |
Thermocouple
wire cannot be expected to meet the limits of error at temperatures
below the ice point unless specified at time of purchase. |
