PRODUCT
CODE: CK/NK
Our customers have grown to expect only the highest quality
products from PMC A Division of R-SCC. We are continuously committed
to meet the specific needs of industry and our customers. This construction
was specifically developed to meet some of those needs.
This design incorporates
quality, ruggedness, and compactness. Two layers of polyimide tape are
wrapped around each conductor to insure full coverage even during flexing,
individual conductors are color coded for quick identification of conductors
by the addition of polyimide coating. The insulated pair is laid parallel
and jacketed with a double wrapped, fused polyimide tape.
It is laminated
with FEP resin which permits the tape (or film ) to be heat sealed.
Polyimide tape in itself is infusible and has no melting point. Polyimide
tape does not support combustion; even at extremely high temperatures,
it decomposes slowly without visible burning, however, suggested upper
continuous operating temperature is 500°F (260°C) due to the
FEP lamination seal.
Polyimide tape is
extremely tough. It has excellent abrasion, impact and cut through resistance,
very high resistance to oxidative degradation, weathering, and all chemicals
except strong bases. This construction offers excellent electrical properties:
high dielectric strength and insulation resistance while maintaining
a low dielectric constant and a dissipation factor which remains almost
constant throughout a wide range of temperature ranges. Polyimide tape
is resistant to radiation, with threshold damage occurring at 7 x 109
a rads in a 2-Mev Van der Graf beam.
The thermocouple
grade products are used to form temperature sensors and the extension
grade products become the interconnecting link in the temperature sensing
system.
You will find our
qualified sales and engineering staff eager to assist in selecting a
design to meet the requirements of your specific application.

| NOTE: |
Percent
limits apply directly to temperature in °C units, but for °F equivalents
are applied to the numbers of °F above or below the ice point (+32°F).
(i.e. Limit (°F) = (Temp. °F-32°F) x Percentage) |
 |
Thermocouple
wire cannot be expected to meet the limits of error at temperatures
below the ice point unless specified at time of purchase. |
