PRODUCT CODE: VB/VB VBH/VBH VBG/VBG

Our customers have grown to expect only the highest quality
products from PMC A Division of R-SCC. These constructions are designed to operate
in applications to withstand continuous temperatures as high as1600°F
(871°C).
Siliflex® has been used as high as 2325°F (1274°C) when
not subjected to flexing or abrasion. Siliflex is being used under conditions where beaded ceramic or sheathed thermocouples previously were necessary. Siliflex
was developed to be a Refrasil® equivalent product. Siliflex is produced
in an environment designed to reduce impurities so often found in silica fiber insulation. It is further tested for impurities prior to being applied
to the wire (or jacket). Thus virtually eliminating the possibility of a reaction
with the chromel leg occasionally experienced with competitive products of this
type.
Siliflex is flexible and less expensive that Ceramaflex® however,
since saturant is not used, it is not recommended for abrasive applications
without a metal overbraid covering. The Siliflex product contains a white viteous
silical fiber braid over each conductor and as a jacket over the parallel pair.
It is available in three different constructions to meet the rigors of a variety
of applications. Each design is also available with an optional red tracer
of one carrier of pre-dyed vitreous silical fiber to identify the negative
leg for ease of installation. The dye used is inorganic and contains no salts.
You will find our
qualified sales and engineering staff eager to assist in selecting a
design to meet the requirements of our specific application. Variations
of this construction are available upon request.
