The same quality
as provided in our thermocouple wire and cable is present in our RTD
lead wire products. The FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) 3, 4, 6, and 8 wire construction was
designed for general RTD leads in most industrial applications up to
400°F (204°C) and offers excellent resistance to abrasion, moisture,
and chemicals. FEP was commercially
introduced in 1960 by E.I. DuPont and is a true thermoplastic. Individual
conductors are insulated with FEP by a conventional extrusion process.
It retains its useful strength and flexibility over broad ranges of
environmental temperatures and thermal aging. The color coded insulated
singles are twisted for additional flexibility and then jacketed with white FEP. You will find our
qualified sales and engineering staff eager to assist in selecting a
design to meet the requirements of your specific application. Variations of this
construction including bondable insulation, foil shield with drain wire
and protective metal coverings are also available upon request.
